InsourceAI

From a messy bill of materials to a clearer sourcing decision.

01 / The story

Why this project exists

InsourceAI is the company i founded to make electronic component procurement easier. Its Agent brings BOM preparation, supplier outreach, email replies and quotation comparison into one workspace for electronics buyers, EMS teams and suppliers.

The starting point was a familiar problem from technology trading: sourcing information lives across spreadsheets, inboxes and supplier conversations. Finding a component is only part of the job. Someone still has to clean the requirements, write the enquiry, chase a reply and make sense of different prices, quantities and lead times. i wanted to connect those steps.

02 / The experience

Inside the procurement workflow

  1. Prepare the BOM

Import component requirements and use BOM Cleaner to organise inconsistent part information, surface issues and prepare the list for sourcing.

  2. Choose suppliers & draft RFQs

Work with existing supplier relationships or opt into the supplier network. Prepare supplier-specific requests with multilingual drafting and translation support.

  3. Keep the conversation connected

Send approved requests through Gmail or Outlook, monitor replies and retain the conversation alongside the RFQ.

  4. Turn replies into comparable quotes

Extract quoted prices, quantities and lead times from supplier responses and documents, then review and correct the details before comparing offers.

  5. Review the next step

Use Ask InsourceAI to explore quotation trade-offs, with attention notices for deadlines and quote validity. Buyers approve outreach and retain the final commercial decision.

AI with a clear job to do

AI helps draft, extract, translate and explain. Supplier selection rules, access controls and buyer approvals form the surrounding workflow. This is the part of the product i care about most: making the next sourcing task easier without handing over the commercial decision.

03 / My part

From idea to execution

i lead the company, product direction and brand, translating procurement problems into workflows people can actually use. My work spans the identity and public website, product design, AI-assisted development, supplier outreach, testing and ongoing releases.

Product & workflow
Shaping the journey from BOM upload through supplier selection, RFQ review, quotation comparison and follow-up, with clear approval points for buyers.
Brand & go-to-market
Creating the visual identity, website and product content, developing supplier relationships, and presenting the product to startup and technology communities.
Building & iteration
Using AI development tools to implement and refine the application, connect services, investigate user friction and test releases against real procurement scenarios.
